When choosing who you trust to help guide you through your mental health journey, it is important to have someone who is using practices that align with what you need. Below are the modalities that I utilize in my day to day practice, what they are, and some of the benefits!
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):
Cognitive behavioral therapy helps you to understand why your actions and behaviors are affected by your thoughts and feelings. The main focus of CBT is to help you identify and challenge your thought patterns and behavioral patterns. In turn, you will be able to better identify your feelings and needs, and respond to different situations more effectively.
Somatic Therapy:
Somatic therapy is a body-based therapy that explores the mind-body connection; how what your body experience can impact your mind, and how what you experience mentally can impact your body.
Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT):
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT):
Play Therapy:
Art Therapy:
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT):
